I`m researching commensal amoebozoa parasites of the human gut. My aim is to find one or more organisms which will satisfy Koch`s postulates for IBS. Currently I have `seen` 20 or so interesting species (some are known to science from one morph in a complex life history only) but I know very little about ten of them. Around 10 species will probably form a clade based on common morphology in one stage in their complex life history. I have resting stages for only three of them. Resting stages are necessary to allow `clean` culture and a precise determination of the life cycles. Right now I`m only `guessing` but there is no shame in that: no one else is any where near this research. The aim of strictly satisfying Koch`s postulates for the aetiology of IBS may never be met.
