Maryam Abbasi has received her bachelor and master degree both in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from Iran with the focus on Composites Casting and Solid Oxide Fuel Cells prepared by Thermal Spraying, respectively. After graduation from bachelor degree, for two years, she worked in a rolling mill factory as the supervisor and then manager of the quality control unit. She also worked as a Research assistant in the Materials Engineering Department of Isfahan University of Technology for 17 months. In that time, Maryam worked on various research projects focused on corrosion, and coating, and was involved in a research team on Nano-materials and welding. She is currently working on extraction and characteristic’s improvement of PHA biopolymers, specifically PHBV biopolymer, at the University of Idaho to make them applicable in the packaging industry. ©
