Three different powders were employed: a non-treated blend of Al and Mg and two others batches produced with different intensities of the activation process. As binder, hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) was used, with and without the metal fuel. The propellants were tested in a window bomb pressurized by nitrogen. The burning rate was measured over a pressure range from 4 to 13 MPa using a digital high-speed video camera.
