Anthony Ruiz received his MS Degree in Hydraulics and Fluid Mechanics in 2008, from a French engineering colleges (ENSEEIHT). He was then hired in the Space Engine division of Snecma. At the same time, he carried out his PhD at CERFACS, in Thierry Poinsot’s team of researchers and PhD students developing the AVBP CFD solver. He was in charge of developing the real-gas module of AVBP, and used it to predict high-pressure reacting flows in the combustion chamber of Liquid Rocket Engines using Snecma’s next-generation injectors. He is now a post-doctoral fellow in Joe Oefelein’s group at Sandia National Laboratories. He conducts highly-resolved Large-Eddy Simulations of turbulent reacting flows on massively parallel architectures (Titan at Oakridge, Hopper at NERSC). He has been developing PVIZ during his free time during the past several years and uses it to better understand and present detailed simulation results.
