Description: Explore and download blank maps for free. Each map comes in SVG, PNG, and PDF formats all in a zipped file. In case you need to edit the map, use the SVG file which is editable using a vector tool like Inkscape. For printing purposes, use the PDF file. All our maps are free for both personal and commercial use. Our curriculum linked to Eduplace. And everyone was happy. Then out of the blue one day, all printable blank maps at Eduplace were gone. Just like that. Poof. Nothing there. Nada. Like, not only were the printable blank maps gone, the site was shut down and replaced with something not very useful. To me, anyways. It left me in a bind. At this point I had SIXTY-FOUR published lessons that linked to the Eduplace printable blank maps that NO LONGER EXISTED! Now that’s a problem. What to do? Especially since I didn’t want this to happen again. After all, I’m used to replacing a link every now and then. Here and there. But in EVERY lesson AT THE SAME TIME?!!! No, thank you. A Blank Map of the World: The Let’s Go Geography Solution So obviously I had to create a blank map of the world PLUS outline continent maps just for Let’s Go. Now our lessons could include our own printable blank maps, they’d have no links, and best of all, the maps wouldn’t disappear without warning! So I attacked what seemed like a ginormous project, and you know, it wasn’t that bad. A lot of work? Yes. But worth it. And I actually enjoyed making these. So right now we have a blank maps of the world PLUS one with continents labeled. We also have printable blank continent maps, PLUS versions with country & capital labels. And as a bonus, there is also a map of Central America thrown in the mix. Just to be clear, the blank continent maps include North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia/Oceania. Not Antarctica because there are no countries in Antarctica. But Antarctica is featured on the blank map of the WORLD, so that should meet your needs. At least the needs of most people. I hope that includes you! Blank Maps of the Continents: Problems & Fixes Since I had to create our own printable maps, I was able to fix a problem with the Eduplace blank continent maps in the process. This problem was most obvious on their Europe map. It was also on their Africa map, and maybe others. The problem? A lot of the smaller countries’ names were abbreviated. For adults that’s usually not a problem. But when you ask a child if they can find Austria, but the map only says Aust, that’s a problem. Contact Us: Facebook: Twitter: Website:
