Personal: I just turned 61 (2021), but I swear I feel 45! I met my husband of just more than 45 years on 12/31/75. After dating him 30 days, we married. We have three kids. Two girls (44 & 42) and one boy (39). I have two brothers (58 & 57) and a sister (47) who just married! We have 13 grandkids, 6 great-grands, and 4 more on the way! Hey – I’m still acting as if I am 45, okay? Education: My Daddy taught me Base 2, 6, 8, and hexadecimal math in 5th grade. I have gone on to earn three degrees with honors: associate’s of science, magna cum laude; bachelor’s of science, cum laude; and my master’s of science with a 4.0 in all classes the entire program. I’m entertaining either a PhD in criminal justice or either an EJD or JD in law. I’m weighing the debt to benefit ratio. Family: I have two younger brothers and a baby sister – well, she is 47. I’ve been married more than 45 years to the same man. We met on NYE 1975 and married a month later. We have 3 kids, 13 grands, 6 greats, and 4 more on the way. Oh, and I have an English Bulldog who owns me. Passion in Education: One day, I was speaking to an attorney-friend about an anonymous client of his, and as he explained his analysis and strategy, sparks began to ignite in my mind and in my heart. My passion had been ignited. Therefore, in 2014, I decided to do something about my education. I enrolled in a university – not just a community college or regular college – a real university. I took as many classes as possible that were feasible. I used every waking moment to study, and I read. I would read the chapters, then use the internet to back up the chapters. The way I take notes is that I open a Word document and I type. The notes alone took up an entire file drawer! The second year, I continued the work – even more passionate about what I was doing. I felt a purposeful need to accomplish this, and I did. At the end of the second school year, I had earned an associate’s degree in legal studies. I was technically now a paralegal. I continued studying. I enrolled in school once more, but I enrolled in a more popular and well-known university. This was the Winter term of 2016. I was concerned that some of the classes I either needed or wanted wouldn’t be available until the Fall, but I was concerned for no reason. All of the classes were available. At the end of the summer in 2017, I had earned my bachelor’s degree. The Fall of 2017, I began my graduate program. I finished November 2019 and walked across the stage in August 2020, Washington, D.C. So, between 2014 and 2019, I earned three degrees with honors in all three. So, that’s all folks!
